About Integrated Discernment
The task of discerning one's vocation in life is one of the most important efforts we can make. When a man or woman is in the thick of sensing a call to the priesthood or religious life, there are many factors at play: human, spiritual, intellectual, and apostolic. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish what the specific obstacle may be. These four dimensions of the Christian experience of discipleship are all essential to the fulfillment of one's vocation. In mentorship with me at Integrated Discernment, you will have the space to process each of these dimensions in your own life.

However, what makes this approach unique is the emphasis on the human. Human formation is the ground upon which all the other dimensions are built. If there are elements in your emotional, sexual, relational development that remain in turmoil, then growth in each of the other dimensions is stunted. On the flip side, as you grow in your human formation, growth in the rest can be exponential. By walking together through your experiences of family, identity, sexuality, and any other areas of your life that you sense need healing and integration, you will become free and ready to respond to God's call for you.

"Human maturity, and in particular affective maturity, requires a clear and strong training in freedom, which expresses itself in convinced and heartfelt obedience to the "truth of one's own being, to the "meaning" of one's own existence, that is to the "sincere gift of self" as the way and fundamental content of the authentic realization of self."

How Mentorship works:
-
You and I will exchange voice messages over a phone app called Voxer for Monday through Friday.
-
The messages can be recorded and sent anytime during your day. I'll respond in the next 24 hours, but likely in the same day.
-
The maximum time for a day's messages is 15 minutes each way.
-
You can leave as many messages as you need to leave under that 15 minute limit.
-
With this model, you have a real sense of being accompanied, unlike the traditional therapeutic pace of a one-hour session once or twice a month at most.
